Foreigners or overseas residents who are interested in getting a job in Korea are on the increase and the companies which want to hire foreign workers are increasing. The qualifications and requirements that Korean companies require are different according to the company and the contents of the work, but the one thing that every company requires from applicants is Korean language proficiency. Korean companies usually need resume, statement of self-introduction, job interview, job skills, and etc.

저는 호주에서 대학교 졸업한 후에 IT분야에서 5년간 근무했습니다. 그 일을 하면서 직장에 매여 일을 하는 것보다 사람을 믿는 것으로 사회에 공헌할 수 있는 직업이 저의 적성에 맞다는 것을 알게 되어 교육 분야로 나가게 되었습니다.
직장을 그만두고 원래 관심이 있었던 일어를 공부하기 위해 일본으로 어학연수를 하러 갔고 귀국한 후에는 대학교에서 공부하여 중학교 및 고등학교 일본어 교사 자격증을 취득했습니다.
어학연수를 하러 갔던 일본에서 많은 한국 사람들을 만나 좋은 친구가 생기기도 하고 한국문화나 언어에 관심을 가지게 되었습니다. 그런 이유로 원래의 계획에는 없었던 한국어도 공부하기 시작했습니다.
호주와 일본에서 한국어를 독학하다가 2009년 1월에 한국에 왔습니다. 처음엔 단기간으로 한국어를 공부할 계획이었지만 좋은 인연으로 작은 회사에서 영어 교육 관련 일을 하게 되었습니다. 그 일이 재미가 있고 보람도 있다고 여기게 되어 본격적으로 교육에 관련된 일이 하고 싶어졌습니다.
한국에서 교육에 관한 일을 하는 것은 제가 하고 싶었던 교육뿐만 아니라 한국과 호주라는 제가 좋아하는 두 나라의 교류에 도움이 될 수 있어서 보람 있는 일이라고 생각합니다. 앞으로도 이 분야에서의 더 다양한 경험을 쌓으면서 한국에서 생활하고 싶습니다.
